The Caledon Hills

caledonhills_6Spirit Tree Estate Cidery is located in the picturesque Caledon Hills, in the southern part of the Headwater’s Tourism area. There is so much to explore in the area from hiking trails to small villages, making it an ideal year-round destination, less than an hours drive northwest of Toronto.

For the nature lover, the Bruce Trail passes right by our front door and the Caledon Trailway is located just around the corner. The Cheltenham Badlands, one of the best examples of badland topography in Ontario, are less than a five-minute drive away. The rolling landscape of red rounded hills and gullies is definitely worth the visit.

Caledon is also home to great skiing and numerous golf courses, not to mention spas, beautiful inns and gourmet restaurants.

Spirit Tree Estate Cidery is conveniently located between the villages of Belfountain and Cheltenham.

What’s A Spirit Tree?

The term cider actually means two things here in North America. It can be “Sweet Cider (Soft Cider)” or “Hard Cider”. “Sweet Cider” is the raw fresh juice from pressed apples.

Spirit Tree Estate Cidery is located on 46 acres of rolling hills in the town of Caledon, just above the village of Cheltenham, on a ridge of the beautiful Niagara Escarpment

Fresh pressed sweet apple cider, breads - hand crafted and hearth baked daily in our wood-fired oven, homemade pies and other baked goods and so much

The name Spirit Tree takes into account the ancient tradition of wassailing as well as being a play on the fact that cider is an alcoholic drink or “spirit” from trees.

With the ever-increasing cost of energy and the increasing awareness of alternative, environmentally friendly building practices, Spirit Tree Estate Cidery has taken a leadership role.
